We are currently seeking an experienced General Manager / Studio Operations Director based in Chisinau, Moldova to manage specialized administrative duties related to Human Resources, Operations, Finance, Administration, and Information Technology for the Moldovan entity.
This role serves as the General Manager of the Moldova studio overseeing a lean administrative team. The ideal candidate for this role is experienced in organizing, driving, and guiding a creatively-led culture. They are an expert communicator and conflict moderator with a strong ability to bridge connections across departments, working hands-on to address problems and move priorities forward.
This person must be able to balance interpersonal skills (ability to build trust and empathy) with professionalism (ability to be fair and diplomatic) while independently solving issues and reporting progress to the CEO each week.
Responsibilities:
Backoffice Administration, HR Budgets/Finance, and Legal Compliance (40%)
- Oversee all HR, Admin, Finance, and Legal vendors.
- Liaise with 3rd party HR law firm to manage Dep. of Labor reference docs, and ensure legal compliance in accordance with Moldovan law.
- Conduct periodic audits of human resource activities (including vacation policy) to ensure compliance with laws, policies, and procedures.
- Lead monthly HR all-calls, and manage regular communication with the team, including after-hours conference calls spanning different time zones.
- Maintain database of HR master files, templates, etc.
- Manage selected CHS departmental HR budgets (annually) and allocate HR funds to align with business priorities, internal flow, and workload.
- Manage formal onboarding and offboarding processes.
Recruitment / Resource Planning (15%)
- Manage the Global HR Plan, supporting Directors in forecasting staffing/freelance needs.
- Research and work closely with Regional HR support staff, including recruiters, to understand hiring needs, engage top-tier talent, and evaluate candidates.
- Own the Recruitment Process and ensure consistent communication throughout the candidate experience.
- Own the salary research/comparison reports for each role in each country (with support from regional HR managers).
- Study the market and generate strategic initiatives to promote bully! entertainment as an employer of choice in the region.
- Ensure proper resource planning processes are standardized and followed globally.
People & Talent Development Performance (15%)
- Perform talent & 360 reviews with leads to assess performance on a quarterly basis.
- Using company people development tools (15Five), centralize all performance review details and ensure active participation across teams.
- Define and create pathways for career growth, including implementing programs to develop middle management skills and opportunities for cross-training.
Rewards & Benefits (5%)
- Assist regional HR Leads in ensuring employee benefits and rewards are consistent.
- Continually track and update compensation and benefits to adjust to market conditions.
- Liaise with Department Leads to recognize outstanding employee contributions, and create opportunities for professional development.
- Manage and oversee the PTO calendar globally.
Culture, Experience, and Retention (25%)
- Build an outstanding employee experience from recruitment to retention.
- Conduct Pulse Surveys to assess organizational climate.
- Act as a mediator in Grievances & Conflict Resolutions.
- Lead projects to improve organizational culture/value alignment with attention to prioritizing work-life balance, facilitating cross-departmental connection, and fostering a sense of community/purpose
Minimum Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience managing stakeholders / partners in a hands-on yet positive way.
- Previous experience overseeing People Management functions in virtual global teams.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills, including proactive, effective, and consistent communication.
- Proven team player with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to coordinate and manage workload across several projects/teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the creative/professional services industry heavily relying on people’s happiness, continued development, and efficiency.
- An interest in sustainable people development, be passionate about the mission to put people first, including their Development Goals.
- Excellent command of the English language, including writing, speaking, and listening.
