Building on the partnership with CINCO Interactive, Bully! created a Kinect-driven kiosk experience promoting the 2013 Ford Fusion for Ford of Canada.

Simply walk up to the Unity 3D-based experience, put out your hands as if grasping a steering wheel, and start driving the Fusion. Answer trivia questions correctly by changing lanes and the game speeds up. Best the Park Assist Challenge game by beating the quick 17 seconds the Fusion takes to park itself, and if you manage to place in the top ten, a special giveaway is yours.

Built with a multiple deployment platforms in mind, the same content was ported to an iPad app where the accelerometer was utilized for steering – turning the iPad right or left switched lanes – and tilting the iPad, as if playing with a marble on the screen surface, enabled the Park Assist challenge. Both kiosk and app featured localization allowing CINCO to engage French speaking festival goers in Quebec, and the next weekend set up in English speaking Toronto for a car show.

Initially launched at Montreal’s Franco Folies Music Festival, the experiences are slotted for events across Canada throughout 2013.

Bully! Makes a Global Escape!

Bully! worked with the Discovery International team to create a global, interactive, 2nd Screen Experience for the new BEAR GRYLLS: ESCAPE FROM HELL television series. This new co-viewing web map was designed to be tablet-friendly, fully responsive, and features parallax scrolling and a custom CMS to enable 18 localizations in 14 different languages (Japanese, Korean, Russian, French, Spanish, Portuguese, and many more) for the show’s international audience.

In this show, Bear travels the world telling harrowing real life stories of ordinary people stranded in dire situations. He examines their narrow escapes and re-lives their journeys to show viewers how to survive in some of the world’s most harsh landscapes. The site will be used as a content hub for fans and will be used as a vehicle to build community around the show. The beautifully designed map enables fans to navigate the terrain of the map to access episode-related features that parallel each episode – Snow, Jungle Desert, Mountain, Canyon.

The content on the site embodies the emotional, powerful connection viewers have with the real-life characters and enables viewers to share their own commentary and experiences. Other features include video interviews, behind the scenes footage, and audio narratives from Bear himself, as well as interactive “Would you Survive?” quizzes throughout the site. Dual-Screen Interactive Experience for a Cause

The American Heart Association updated their CPR guidelines to emphasize the importance of high quality CPR focusing on sufficient compression rate and depth without excessive ventilating. Hands-only CPR — a technique that involves chest compressions without artificial respiration — was born out of this and has become the recommended method for the untrained rescuer.

Working closely with CDM NY, Bully! developed Rhythm Rescue, a cross-platform interactive game to serve as a rallying point for hands-only CPR education in New York City and beyond. Launched at the 2014 American Heart Association’s Heart Ball, Rhythm Rescue is a unique integration of cutting edge web and mobile technology.

Beautifully designed using HTML5 and Unity3D, Rhythm Rescue is a group experience that takes advantage of any smartphones’ touchscreen capabilities to interact with a web-based, Unity3D scene. This Web Socket system utilizes Socket.io to connect mobile users with a centralized server, creating a cohesive, dual-screen experience for five or five hundred participants at a time. Users tap their cell phones screens at a 100 beats per minute following a music track that follows the recommended rhythm for effective hands-only CPR. After a number of successful, in-rhythm taps the user saves a virtual life. This ‘life’ then appears on the big screen as an animated character drops into the Unity scene and begins dancing.

With its high-energy visuals, playful characters and engaging sound design, this interactive experience marries art and tech for a good cause. And with social network connectivity and group involvement, the message is easily spread.
