Immersive experience hits it out of the park with Forbes 30 Under 30 crowd

For the Forbes 30 Under 30 Summit closing party at Comerica Park, bully! worked with Microsoft and Accenture to create an immersive experience worthy of the brands’ statuses as leaders in innovation.

Showcasing Microsoft’s HoloLens 2, we utilized mixed reality technology to give guests a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity—facing down a 100 mph pitch in a Major League Stadium. We utilized a volumetric captured actor (plus a bit of tech wizardry) to create a realistic blend of the real-world setting with the virtual scene. Summit attendees were invited to step up to the plate and watch our virtual player pitch and catch fastballs in mixed reality.

The experience was so immersive that, when it was their chance to 'face the pitch,' nearly every guest struck a batter’s pose and swung for the fences, despite there being no prompt to do so.

Transforming environments with mixed reality

Enabled by volumetric capture and powered by Microsoft's Hololens, Face the Pitch took advantage of the real-world venue by combining it with high-fidelity digital actors. Summit attendees were invited to step up to the plate and watch our volumetric capture players pitch & catch fastballs in mixed reality.

This blend of creativity and technology allowed us to showcase both the technical capabilities of the HoloLens and the potential integrated technology has to enhance live event experiences. The result was a hit that got attendees swinging throughout the entire 4-hour event!
