Real-time control for a living performance
Digital characters—including Rothbart and the swans—appeared within the set, transforming stage into their live-action counterparts on cue. While atmospheric effects were layered dynamically, allowing the to feel responsive rather than pre-rendered.
At the performance, a live VJ controlled the system in real time, syncing transitions, lighting, and effects with the orchestra’s tempo and the dancers' movements.
The result: a stage that carried narrative weight—bridging tradition and technology to deepen meaning, engage new audiences, and reimagine what live performance can be.
Not just preserving Swan Lake’s legacy, but expanding how it can be seen, felt, and told.
